Real Great Rooms. Real Vaulted Ceilings. Real 6-Foot Flame on the Wall.

72 inches wide. 3.19 inches thin. 400 sq ft of coverage. The biggest Crystal Panel we make — for great rooms with vaulted ceilings where anything smaller would look lost. Wall-mount or recess it. 12 flame colors over a glass crystal ember bed. Alexa, phone app, remote, and touch panel.

You have owned space heaters before. Bulky boxes in the corner. Fan noise, one color, one setting. This is not that.

Here is what actually differs about The Crystal Panel Max.

4 Things We Care About

72 Inches Wide. 6 Feet of Flame.

Same ultra-thin 3.19 inch profile as the rest of the Crystal Panel family, but 6 full feet across. For great rooms with vaulted or two-story ceilings where a smaller panel would look lost, or below a 75-inch-plus TV where the flame line matches the TV. If your wall is over 10 feet, this is the size.

3.19 Inches Deep. Wall-Mount or Recessed.

Mounts flat on a wall without eating floor space, or recess into a wide accent wall for a built-in fireplace look. 48 lbs across 72 inches — a two-person mount is non-negotiable. One person cannot hold 6 feet of panel level while dropping it onto a bracket.

check

Alexa. App. Remote. Touch.

Control it however you want. Remote (26 ft range), touch panel on the front, Alexa voice, or the phone app over WiFi or Bluetooth. Turn the flame on for ambience without the heat. Turn the heat on without the flame in sleep mode.

money

ETL Certified. Cool-Touch Glass. Overheat Shutoff.

Tempered glass front stays cool to touch. Steel housing. Overhead vents move warm air out the top so nothing hot faces the room. Overheat shutoff cycles the element down automatically. ETL listed on the back plate.

Built to Last, Not to Impress

Built for the Great Room and the Long Winter Evening.

Steel housing. Tempered glass front. 750W low / 1500W high. Overhead vent design keeps the front cool to touch. 12-color flame with 12-color glass crystal ember bed. 48 lbs. Wall-mount bracket included. 6.5 ft cord. ETL certified. About 20 cents an hour to run on low, 40 on high.

Plug it in tonight. Warm the room while 6 feet of multicolor flame over a real glass ember bed turns any great-room wall into a fireplace.

Mount It. Plug It In. Warm the Room. Watch the 6-Foot Flame. Tonight.

Pick a wall. Anchor the bracket into studs with a helper (two-person mount required at 72 inches, or recess it into a wall opening). Plug the 6.5 ft cord into a nearby outlet. Press the touch panel, tap the app, or ask Alexa. The 12-color flame comes on across the full 6 feet over the glass ember bed. Warm air comes out the top vents. That is it. No venting, no gas line, no chimney.

Real homeowners. Real great rooms. Real 6-foot crystal-bed flame on the wall on the same 1500 watts everyone else charges you for.

Architects. Retired engineers. Airbnb hosts. All had the same one very big wall in the house that felt cold and blank. Here is what happened when they mounted 6 feet of flame to it.

"Architect. I put the Max in every great room I design now."

"I've been an architect for 18 years. I used to specify custom masonry fireplaces for great rooms — 20 to 40 grand installed with permits, chimney runs, gas lines. The Crystal Panel Max at 72 inches gives me the horizontal scale of a custom insert at a small fraction of the price and installs in a day. Client walks into the great room, sees 6 feet of flame across the wall, doesn't ask about BTU — asks who my carpenter is. I've spec'd this on 8 projects in the last year, mostly new-construction great rooms with vaulted ceilings where anything smaller would have looked wrong."

"Retired engineer. Measured the specs. Ordered the Max because scale matters at cathedral ceilings."

"Retired mechanical engineer, 40 years in aerospace. I read the spec sheet, put a Kill-A-Watt on the outlet, verified the 1500W draw at 12.5 amps. Went with the Max because our great room has a 22-foot vaulted ceiling and the smaller sizes would have felt lost on the 14-foot wall. Scale matters. At 6 feet across, the fireplace reads as a design element, not an accessory. ETL cert on the back plate, cool-touch glass, overhead vents. Everything a mechanical engineer would design well."

"Airbnb superhost. Bookings up 40%. Guest reviews mention the fireplace by name."

"Airbnb superhost, three lakehouse rentals. Put the 72-inch Max in the great room of my flagship property. Bookings jumped 40% in the six months since. Guest reviews mention 'the fireplace' by name in nearly every one — they photograph it, they tag it. Cost me under a grand installed. The gas-insert quotes I was getting were 12-18 grand. This paid for itself in the first two months of higher-priced bookings."

Went from the 60-inch Grand to the 72-inch Max. 12 more inches was the right call.

We first bought the Crystal Panel Grand (60") for our new great room. Wall behind the sectional is 13 feet. The Grand was fine, but still felt slightly small for the wall. Swapped up to the Max. The extra 12 inches fills the wall properly — no more visual gap. Flame is more dramatic from across the great room, and the crystal ember bed at 6 feet wide reflects way more light. If your wall is over 10 feet across, get the Max. If it is 9-10 feet, the Grand is right. If it is 7-8 feet, the Wide. Below that, the base 42. Wish PHH published a size chart.

Alexa + 6-foot flame + morning coffee. Better than the gas fireplace we used to have.

Bought the Max mostly for the flame effect. Kept it because it beats the gas fireplace we replaced. Wake up at 5:30am. 'Alexa, turn on the fireplace' from bed. Whole 6 feet of amber flame is going by the time I'm downstairs. Timer set for 2 hours. Then it turns itself off. Gas fireplace we replaced needed annual servicing, had that faint gas smell every time it kicked on, and cost about $80/month in gas during winter. The Max is $0 to service and about $15/month in electricity for the same evening use. Should have done this five years ago.

HVAC tech. At 72 inches, the horizontal convection vent design actually matters.

I install and service central HVAC for a living. Wife wanted a fireplace look for our vaulted great room without a gas line or chimney. At 72 inches, the horizontal vent design is genuinely important — the extra length gives more vent area, so the housing runs cooler than a compressed vent on a smaller panel would at the same wattage. Cool-touch glass is legit, verified with a laser thermometer. Overheat shutoff cycles the element cleanly. One install note: this needs a dedicated 15A circuit and a two-person mount. Do not skimp on either.

Recessed the Max into a 14-foot accent wall. Contractor thought I was crazy for the price.

New-construction great room, accent wall 14 feet across, 12-foot ceiling, vaulted above. Was looking at gas inserts starting at 14k. Instead framed out a horizontal opening in the shiplap accent wall and recessed The Crystal Panel Max into it. 3.19 inches deep meant a shallow inset with a header above and a sill below. Wired an outlet inside the cavity. The 72-inch width fills the accent wall like a proper built-in — zero visual gap on either side. From across the room it reads as a Restoration Hardware fireplace insert. Total cost including the panel, lumber, and outlet run: about 1,050 bucks. Contractor buddy told me the same install for a real gas insert would have been 4k in labor alone.

Engineer. Kill-A-Watt: 1500W high, 750W low. Matches the label.

Kill-A-Watt on the outlet. High mode: exactly 1500W (12.5A at 120V). Low mode: exactly 750W. Flame-only with heat off: about 14W (LED array plus display) — the highest of the family because the LED bar is the longest. Coverage claim (400 sq ft) is basically accurate for a well-insulated room. My 550 sq ft great room goes from 62 to 70F in about 45 minutes on high, then holds at 70 on low. Slower than the smaller sizes (same heat, bigger room), which is exactly what physics predicts. The Max draws the same electricity as the 42, 50, and 60. Generates the same heat. Just spreads the flame effect over 6 feet. If your wall justifies the size, get it.

Home cinema below an 85-inch TV. The flame line matches the TV width.

Home cinema in the finished basement, 85-inch TV mounted on the accent wall. Wanted a fireplace below the TV that scaled to it — tried the 60-inch first, looked comically short below the TV. Returned it, ordered the Max. At 72 inches, the flame line matches the TV width almost exactly. Reads as a single cinematic composition. Blue-mode flame below a movie playing on the TV is genuinely stunning. Whole room feels like a proper theater. Glass stays cool even after 3-hour movie nights. Solid engineering.

Same 1500W of heat. Same 400 sq ft coverage. Same 3.19-inch depth. What differs: 12 more inches of flame than the Grand, 22 more than the Wide, 30 more than the 42. If your wall is over 10 feet across (or you have a 20+ foot vaulted ceiling), the 72-inch Max scales properly to it. If your wall is 9-10 feet, the 60-inch Grand is the right choice. 7-8 feet, the 50-inch Wide. 5-6 feet, the 42-inch Crystal Panel. The Max is unambiguously oversized in smaller rooms.

No. It is an LED-lit visual effect behind a tempered glass front, with actual glass crystals in the ember bed lit from below in 12 colors. From normal viewing distance (5+ feet) 6 feet of multicolor flame across a wall is genuinely striking and looks convincingly like a real fire. Up close you can tell it is not real flame. No wood, no smoke, no crackling, no ash.

Any interior wall with three studs within reach of a wall outlet — the bracket anchors into studs and the cord is 6.5 ft long. At 72 inches wide and 48 lbs, a two-person mount is REQUIRED. One person cannot hold 6 feet of panel level while dropping it onto a bracket. Common spots: above a full-length sectional in a great room, below a 75-inch+ TV, or recessed into a wide accent wall for a built-in look. Mount so the top of the panel is at seated eye level. Keep at least 8 inches clear above the top vents.

Wipe the tempered glass front with a soft dry cloth every few weeks to keep dust off the flame view. Vacuum the top vent slots once a season. That is it. No filters, no fluid, no annual servicing. If a flame color starts flickering weirdly (rare), unplug for 60 seconds and plug back in — it resets the LED array.

The flame-only mode (no heat) draws about 14W — essentially the same as a nightlight — and is designed to run continuously without safety concerns. That said, we still recommend using the 1-12 hour timer so nothing electrical runs unattended past when you want it to. If you want to combine flame ambience with heat overnight, use sleep mode: the display and flame dim, the heat cycles quietly, and the timer shuts everything off at the set time. Never leave a space heater in heat mode running when you leave the house.

No. At 72 inches long and 48 lbs, this does not fit an RV or camper. And 1500W is too much draw for an inverter or a small solar setup. Best in a stick-built home on a standard 15A wall circuit. Do NOT plug into an extension cord or power strip.

Every 1500-watt heater makes the same heat. What differs about this one: 6 feet of 12-color flame over a real glass crystal ember bed, 3.19 inches thin so it mounts on the wall without eating floor space, Alexa + phone + remote + touch control, and 400 sq ft of coverage. Plug it in, mount it up, warm the room, watch the flame. Tonight.
