Real Desks. Real Nightstands. Real Personal Warmth.

Desk-sized. No fan. One-hand carry. Runs about 12 cents an hour.

You do not need a whole-room heater. You need warmth at your chair, your bed, or your kid's corner. That is what this is for.

Here is what actually differs about The Pocket Column.

4 Things We Care About

Desk-Sized on Purpose.

5.5 inches deep, 12 inches wide, 14 inches tall. Fits beside your monitor, under your desk, on the nightstand. The 1500W Column siblings are floor-standing furniture; this one is a countertop appliance.

8.6 Pounds. One-Hand Carry.

Grab it by the built-in top handle and carry it to wherever you actually sit. No wheels, no floor space needed. Moves with you between the office, the bed, and the reading chair.

check

Silent Oil-Filled Convection.

Same technology as the bigger Columns — sealed oil inside the fins, no fan, no glow, no whoosh. Under 45 dB. Perfect for a small home office, a kid's room, a bedside table.

money

ECO Mode + Cool-Touch Shell.

ECO mode cycles the element to maintain your set temperature at minimum draw — about 12 cents an hour. Cool-touch outer housing is warm to the touch, not burn-you-if-you-brush-it hot. Safe within arm's reach.

Built to Last, Not to Impress

Built for Personal Warmth. Not for a Whole Room.

Flame-retardant shell. Cool-touch outer housing. 700W single setting. Silent oil-filled convection. Single knob dial thermostat, red POWER LED, ECO mode. Built-in top carry handle, small stable feet. 8.6 pounds. Runs about 12 cents an hour at the US average electric rate — half the cost per hour of the 1500W siblings.

Plug it in tonight. Warm YOU, not the whole room.

Plug In. Turn the Knob. Sit Beside It. Warm.

Set it on your desk, your nightstand, or a small table beside your chair. Plug it in. Turn the knob past MIN. Red LED comes on. Silent oil heat within a few minutes. That is it.

Real homeowners. Real desks and bedsides. Silent 700-watt oil heat for the people who don't need a whole-room heater.

Homeowners. Renters. Caregivers. All had the same one room in the house that never got warm. Here is what happened when they stopped ignoring it.

"Small studio apartment. The Cast Column was too big for the desk in my nook. This one is small enough to sit on the desk beside my monitor. Warms my hands while I type. Silent so my client Zoom calls don't pick it up. One-hand carry to the nightstand at bedtime."

"Kid's room heater. Silent, no fan on him, cool-touch shell."

"Bought this for my son's room. He's 6 and always kicks off his blanket. Wanted heat that wouldn't blow on him (fan-forced was out), wouldn't glow all night (halogen out), and wouldn't burn him if he touched it (bare-coil out). The Pocket Column ticks all three. Sits on his dresser across the room. Silent oil heat. Safe."

"700W, not 1500. Warms me at the chair for about 12 cents an hour."

"Home office at a small nook desk in an apartment. I don't need to heat the whole apartment — I need heat at MY chair for 4 hours a day. Pocket Column at 700W does exactly that. Costs about 12 cents an hour. Kill-a-Watt confirmed. Perfect for what it is — personal warmth, not room warmth."

Right-sized. 1500W was overkill for my desk.

Tried the Cast Column first for my home-office desk. Too big — took up half the floor space next to the desk, and 1500W was too much heat for a 10x10 room. Returned it, bought the Pocket Column. Sits ON the desk beside my monitor. 700W is exactly the right amount of heat for the small room. About 12 cents an hour instead of 25. Both are good heaters. Match the wattage to the room.

Kids room. Silent oil = no fan blowing on the baby monitor.

Nursery, north side, always cold. Every fan-forced heater I tried triggered the baby monitor's noise-detection mic in the corner — it would ping my phone all night thinking he was crying. Pocket Column is oil-filled, no fan, silent. Monitor stopped false-alarming. Peace of mind restored. Small enough to sit on the dresser out of reach. Cool-touch shell. Do NOT leave it running unattended near a sleeping infant — rules for any 700W or 1500W heater apply.

HVAC tech. This is the heater to buy for a small office or bedside.

Same tech as the bigger Columns, half the wattage, one-third the footprint. If someone asks me "what heater for a single desk or nightstand," this is it. Silent oil radiator = no fan bearing to wear out. Cool-touch shell = safe within arm's reach. 700W = right-sized for a small space (250-350 sq ft max, realistically for the chair you're sitting in). Simple knob dial. Nothing to reset. Nothing to learn. Bought one for my father-in-law's bedside.

Moves between the office and the bedroom in one hand.

8.6 pounds. Cut-out handle on top. I carry it from my home-office desk during the day to my nightstand at night. Two rooms, one heater. Silent enough that both settings work — focus work by day, sleep by night. No fan hum in either place. The bigger Columns roll on wheels, but this one is small enough that I just pick it up. Faster.

Engineer. Kill-a-Watt says 700W steady. 12 cents/hr at Ohio rates.

Kill-a-Watt on the outlet. Steady 700W (±2W) whenever the element is running. ECO cycling: about 45% duty cycle at my chosen setpoint, so real cost per hour is more like 5 cents. Matches the label. Matches PHH's math. The 700W spec means it will NOT heat a room bigger than ~250 sq ft to a comfortable ambient temperature — but it warms YOU (radiant + convection to about 4 feet) at a fraction of a 1500W heater's cost. Right-sized for its use case.

My mother-in-law is 89. She figured this one out without me writing an instruction card.

She has arthritis in her hands and struggles with complicated remotes and digital displays. Every heater I've bought her got returned within a week. Pocket Column has ONE knob. She turns it until she feels warm. Red LED tells her it's on. Two things to remember. She calls to tell me she's using it every evening. First heater she's kept.

Same technology (oil-filled radiator, silent, no fan), completely different scale. The Cast Column and Ivory Column are 1500W floor-standing heaters on casters, sized to warm a 300 sq ft room. The Pocket Column is 700W and desk-sized — sized to warm YOU at a desk, nightstand, or beside a chair. About 12 cents an hour to run (roughly half of the 1500W siblings). Pick this one if you want personal warmth, not room warmth.

No. 700W is roughly half the peak heat of the 1500W siblings and the small fin surface is sized for personal warmth, not room warmth. It warms you and about 4 feet around you. If you want a whole-room heater, look at the Cast Column or Ivory Column (both 1500W).

On any stable surface within arm's reach of where you sit — a desk, a nightstand, a small side table, a bathroom counter. Standard 120V outlet. It pulls about 6 amps on high, well within any household circuit. Keep three feet of clearance from curtains or upholstery.

The oil is sealed permanently inside the fins at the factory — you never touch it, refill it, or drain it. Under normal use it does not leak. Warranted; on the rare chance of a factory defect that causes a leak, contact us.

Like every heater on this site — do NOT leave it unattended overnight. Turn the knob to MIN and unplug it before bed. The good news: oil-filled radiators hold their heat for 15-20 minutes after the element cycles off, so the room stays warm even after you shut it down.

Yes, on any standard 120V outlet — shore power at a campsite, a 700W-capable inverter, or a properly-rated generator. It pulls about 6 amps continuously. Safer for smaller inverters than the 1500W siblings. Do not run it on a light-duty extension cord.
